The Assistant Director of Graduate Admission is an exempt, full-time Administrative position reporting to the Director of Graduate Admission.

The Assistant Director of Graduate Admission serves as a key member of the Graduate Admission management team, develop and manage recruitment strategies and initiatives for the Graduate Admissions Team in accordance to Chapman’s mission and goals.  This position serves as functional lead for CRM management and lead for managing graduate admission communications.  The incumbent shows knowledge of Slate and Campus Solutions to provide daily training to users.  The Assistant Director takes the lead and represents the University with the designated graduate programs at various recruitment events, both on and off campus.  This position performs other duties as assigned.



The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required for the Assistant Director of Graduate Admission position.

Specific Job Requirements: Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent combination in education and experience. A minimum of two years professional experience in an admissions office, preferably at a higher education institution. Demonstrated knowledge of admissions and CRM systems, such as Slate and Campus Solutions, including report writing and analysis and experience setting up workflow/communications flow. Skill to prepare basic financial forms and reconcile expenses. Skill to perform arithmetic calculations such as add, subtract, multiply, divide, percentages and averages. Proven ability to exercise independent thinking and judgment to carry on duties in a timely manner, at a level that is commensurate with an Assistant Director position. Working knowledge of higher education admission and enrollment policies and procedures. Ability to provide training and explain technical processes to every day users. Ability to read, interpret and apply relevant policies and procedures.

General Job Requirements: Demonstrated effective written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with all types of individuals at all societal levels. Ability to work effectively as a member of a team, but also be able to exercise initiative and work independently. Strong analytical skills to evaluate data, assess alternatives, and make decisions and or recommendations. Strong writing skills to prepare and proofread clear and concise, grammatically correct business correspondence and marketing materials. Computer skills in the use of word processing, desktop publishing, spreadsheet, database, internet and electronic email, preferably Microsoft Office. Strong technical skills to learn and use enterprise and departmental tools and systems. Strong organizational and prioritization skills. Ability to use tact and diplomacy and maintain confidentiality. 

Desired: Working knowledge of Chapman University policies and procedures that pertain to duties associated with this position.
