The Videographer is a non-exempt, full-time limited term staff position which assists management within the Strategic Marketing and Communications. This position is located at the West Palm Structure.  This assignment is limited-term and may be considered for up to 12 months (1 year) based upon available funding.

The Videographer will serve as the primary camera operator for the Broadcast and Digital Media Department within the Strategic Marketing & Communications department. The Videographer’s duties include recording audio and video; operating various types of cameras; setting up and operating lights, tripods, cameras, microphones; utilizing a variety of camera accessories and gear.  Assist with all phases of studio operations. The videographer will be responsible for getting quotes, renting gear, testing, and returning gear. The position will assist and interact with students, faculty, and staff. Additionally, during “downtime,” responsible for gear and studio maintenance.  May sometimes edit using Premiere/Mac-based.



The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required for the Videographer position.

Specific Job Requirements: Minimum two years of work experienced in all phases of television and digital film production – grip, electric, audio, camera. Bachelor of Arts in Film/Television production or commensurate experience of one to three years. At least one to three years of experienced in studio operations (multi-camera, HD studio). Must have experience with all types of television and digital film production, from “green screen” interviews to multi-camera studio shoots.

General Job Requirements: Self-starter who’s able to manage a variety of tasks and a fluctuating workload. Sensitive to deadlines and ability to work under pressure. Interpersonal skills to work with a diverse group of individuals inside and outside of the university.  Dependability, accountability and a sharp eye for design with a strong attention to detail. Must be a fast learner and a team player with the ability to give/take direction easily and manage time wisely. Technical skills to learn and use enterprise systems and departmental tools.

Desired: MFA in film production desired.  Experience with camera operation, knowing how to operate a camera and additional equipment such as lighting and microphones. Experience with video editing in Adobe Premiere.
