Orange County Youth Symphony Orchestra
2009-2010 Application

Auditions for the Orange County Youth Symphony Orchestra are open to all 8th grade, high school and college woodwind, brass, percussion, and string musicians. Students auditioning will be asked to perform: (1) a movement of a concerto or a solo work of their choice, and (2) an orchestral excerpt (a PDF will be emailed once the application is received.) Musicians may also be asked to play scales. All auditions will be held on Saturday and Sunday, September 12th & 13th, 2009, at the Chapman University Conservatory of Music. There is no excerpt for keyboard musicians; you will play two pieces of contrasting style.
