This 5 level parking structure located in the back of the Chapman University School of Law was completed in 1998. The structure, dedicated in June of 2006, was named the Fred L. Barrera Parking Structure in honor and celebration of Mr. Barrera`s lifetime of service to the City of Orange. Fred Barrera, a longtime resident of Orange, was elected to the Orange City Council in 1976 and served five four-year terms - three of those as mayor pro tem. He was named Orange`s Citizen of the Year in 1977. Upon his retirement in 1996, the city council bestowed upon him the title of mayor pro tem emeritus.
