The position will be located at the University College Central Offices in Irvine, California.

Provide dynamic professional and technical leadership in the areas of staff training and development for Brandman University, including the central office and campuses in California and Washington. In consultation with the Assistant Vice Chancellor for Human Resources and Training Development, develop, and execute a comprehensive program including modules for organizational culture, basic skills, knowledge based skills, professional certification, and leadership that are in line with the overall strategic initiatives of the University. Research emerging industry trends, new technologies, concepts, and techniques to update current training curriculum as appropriate. Design and implement a comprehensive communication program to share training and development program information to the campuses effectively which may include the use of the web, printed publications, and meetings tailored to the needs of campus constituents.

May be required to provide own transportation to area off-site locations in support of assigned duties and responsibilities. Position requires a flexible work schedule, with occasional travel and evening and/or weekend hours. Overnight travel may be required to University College campuses throughout California and in Washington.

Qualifications:
Required: Bachelor’s degree in human resources, education, business administration or closely related field required; Master’s degree preferred or combination of education and experience. Proven ability to provide dynamic leadership, technical direction, and expert project management skills to develop and maintain a training program, including strong skills in analyzing management and support staff roles as well as in defining function goals and clarifying campus training and development issues. Excellent presentation skills; skill to clearly express complex material in written and oral forms to academic and non-academic audiences. Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with a diverse group of individuals and groups at all organizational levels, both inside and outside of the institution. Expert knowledge of current information and instructional technology and ability to direct their use in the delivery of education and professional development programs. Proven ability to adapt to new technologies and the ability to articulate the technology to end users. Extensive understanding of Instructional Systems Design and learning platforms such as WebEx, LiveMeeting, etc. Demonstrated expert skill in directing the development, implementation, and evaluation of training and development programs varying in size, complexity, innovation, and comprehensiveness to meet CUC’s goals, commitments, and priorities. Demonstrated resourcefulness in developing cost-effective training programs from concept to delivery in a timely manner. Proven ability to work independently and evaluate data, assess alternatives and formulate logical and sound decisions and/or recommendations. Proven ability to direct needs assessment. Demonstrated experience and skill in the use of cost-benefit analysis, ROI, financial and non-financial measures to evaluate performance, and best practices analysis. Ability to manage multiple projects; prioritize and finalize activities to meet deadlines. Knowledge of current adult learning theory and leadership theory practices and ability to apply them to curricula and programs. Familiarity with adult-oriented higher education institutions. Demonstrated experience and knowledge of marketing principles, techniques, information campaigns, and public relations concepts. Ability to maintain highest level of confidentiality. Proven skills to evaluate and analyze complex data and make appropriate decisions and/or recommendations relative to that data in the areas of assessment, performance, and training. Strong commitment to customer service and ability to work comfortably and continually as part of a team. Group facilitation skills and experience in delivering complex content and facilitating group processes such as focus groups and brainstorming. Experience and skill in negotiating, consensus building, and conflict management.

Desired: Knowledge and use of Datatel Colleague preferred. Knowledge of University policies and procedures pertaining to the duties of the position.
