Collaborate with senior software engineer in the design, development, integration and testing of software applications used in Experiment Economics software for teaching and research purposes. Work closely with a small team of economists in identifying and analyzing technical requirements needed to develop Experimental Economics Software and other on-going projects. Develop and validate software for real-time economics experiments. Prepare systems and programming documentation. Keep abreast of new hardware and methods of software development for experimental economics. Assist in maintaining a 90+ computer lab that are built specifically for Experimental Economics. Coordinate technical needs for the Economic Science Institute Office and labs. Provide technical support to ESI students. Perform other duties as assigned
This position requires ability to travel several weeks per year to provide off-site support for Experimental Economics Workshops with the mobile computer lab. The position requires some evening and weekend work hours as needed.
Desired: Working technical knowledge of serial communications protocols, such as RS232 or USB, and of network communication tools, such as TCP/IP or UDP.
