The position will be located at Brandman University Central Offices in Irvine, California.
This position is responsible for the day-to-day management of Brandman University’s budget. Assist the Director of Budget in the development and management of the University’s annual budget. Assist the Director in communicating approved budgets to relevant constituencies and with implementing the approved budget into the financial reporting system. Monitor the University’s budget; prepare under general supervision accurate and timely budget status reports on the overall budget as well as specific operations for various constituencies including campus directors, the Director of Budget, the VC for Finance & Administration, and the Finance Committee of the Board of Regents. Assist in the management of the University’s budget which includes tasks such as reviewing and processing financial paperwork in the context of available resources; providing relevant reports to Director of Budget and others on budget deviations and financial performance. Provide, prepare, organize, and document all financial information including general ledger and related transactions, reconcile the accounts and budgets, and communicate findings with relevant personnel. Research inquiries and respond to budget and administrative questions from the campuses; provide recommendations for action including the allocation of funds when appropriate. Review and oversee service contracts for equipment in coordination with appropriate officers of the University’s Business Operations. Develop, in consultation with the Director of Budget, a policy and procedure manual for financial operations. Construct cost savings analyses and make recommendations. Work with the financial departments at Chapman University as related to budget or other related tasks. Perform other related duties as assigned.
Need valid driver's license and vehicle for travel. May be required to travel overnight. May be required to maintain a flexible work schedule to accommodate business needs.
Desired: Experience in higher education accounting and/or budget management. Experience in working with preparing budget reports for board meetings. Knowledge of Brandman University policies and procedures.
