Responsibilities:

Successful completion of criminal background and financial/credit checks required for final candidate. In addition, a DMV record check is required before and during employment. Continued employment in this position requires ongoing satisfactory DMV records reviews.

This position will require the final candidate to spend substantial time at both Chapman University and Brandman University campuses.

Serve as the main technical liaison between Brandman University and the Chapman University IS&T team to assess and support Brandman University's enterprise system integration needs. Work directly with the Vice Chancellor for Finance and Administration and other Brandman University administrators, and Chapman University CIO and IT directors to define technological and software requirements and initiatives, research alternatives, and develop budgets and schedules for these initiatives. Work with Chapman University CIO and IT directors to coordinate implementation of projects. Work with cross functional teams at Brandman University and Chapman University to ensure that deliverables are in line with budget, schedule and performance goals as defined and agreed upon by both institutions. Effectively communicate technical feasibility and approach to clients. Plan, schedule, prioritize and drive development activities and system implementation. Develop comprehensive project timelines. Ensure that project schedules are tracked and meet project goals. Provide leadership and direction in resolving conflicts related to cost, schedule and performance, at times across units. Serve as escalation point for unresolved or delayed IT project requests or issues. Keep abreast of current and emerging trends and technology of academia. Participate in the development, implementation and maintenance of system policies and procedures. Perform other duties as assigned.

This position may require some evening and weekend work hours as needed. It may require providing own transportation to travel to and from nearby off-site locations.

Qualifications:
Required : A minimum of five years experience in managing enterprise system projects for higher education institutions, including functional implementations, upgrades, customizations and system integration. Successful experience in leading, motivating and interacting with diverse cross-functional development team members. Experience in partnering with academic learning leadership to build strategies for broad scale use of technology-based instructional tools. Working knowledge of streaming media, mobile, virtual, learning management systems and other collaboration needed for Brandman University campuses. Demonstrated understanding of relational database/tools, Basic/Unibasic programming, client server applications, FTP/Data communications and Unix/HP-UX operating system. Demonstrated understanding of enterprise systems designs and codes, preferably of Datatel, ImageNow or Cyborg. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, including the ability to foster effective relationships and work with a diverse group of individuals from within and outside the university community. Proven ability to successfully lead client workshops or meetings with confidence, including demonstration of excellent presentation skills. Proven ability to work successfully and closely with diverse constituents within and outside of the university. Proven ability to assign classifications of project ownership to elements of enterprise systems. Excellent technical skills to learn, use and troubleshoot Chapman’s enterprise systems. Excellent time management skills to prioritize and manage multiple complex tasks and conflicting deadlines at the same time. Ability to work independently, secure information/data, and make recommendations based upon the information/data gathered. Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and to consistently conduct oneself in a tactful and diplomatic manner. Excellent problem solving skills, including the ability to formulate and communicate logical conclusions and recommendations. Accounting skills to track expenses and budgets. Computer skills to use word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, internet and electronic mail software, preferably of Microsoft Office Suite applications.

Desired: Bachelor’s degree in computer science or information systems.
