Responsibilities:

Successful completion of criminal background check required for final candidate. In addition, a DMV record check is required before and during employment. Continued employment in this position requires ongoing satisfactory DMV records reviews.

Under the direction of the media services manager, the media services specialist will advise and act as a resource person for university personnel in the use of audio visual equipment. Receive and process requests for media services scheduling. Train and supervise student employees to deliver, set up, and break down audio visual equipment from various locations on campus. Provide audio visual support for special events. Video tape some classes and special events. Edit video and create DVD's and media files for streaming over the web. Provide general maintenance on university owned audio visual equipment. Troubleshoot problems with University Audio Visual systems that use Crestron, AMX, and Extron control systems. Help maintain up to date and accurate equipment inventory. Webcast events using Quicktime or Sonic Foundry Mediasite. Provide tech support for video conferencing facility, arrange test calls and assist users with videoconference calls. Assist with implementation of Crestron room view and Extron Global viewer to manage AV equipped classrooms. Assist with installation of new classroom AV systems. Other duties as assigned.

This position is scheduled to work Wednesday through Sunday and work flexible hours Saturday and Sunday.

Qualifications:
Required: Bachelor’s degree or combination of some college and equivalent work experience. Excellent written and oral communication skills and interpersonal skills to interact with diverse individuals and groups at all organizational levels, both inside and outside the University. Ability to use tact and diplomacy and to maintain a high level of confidentiality. Substantial experience working with audio visual equipment and projectors systems, such as video cameras, 16mm projectors, LCD projectors, VHS players, Room control systems such as Crestron, AMX, Extron. Strong organizational skills, with proven ability to plan and prioritize multiple projects and complete them in a timely manner. Strong commitment to customer service and teamwork. Basic arithmetic skills to schedule and track inventories. Analytical and technical skills to assess functionality of AV equipment and troubleshoot operation problems.

Desired: Working knowledge of computers, Windows XP, Mac. OS 10, Photoshop, Final Cut Pro., Illustrator, Flash, DVD pro. Knowledge of Crestron, AMX, Extron, Programming/configuration, preferred. Experience installing and troubleshooting audio visual systems.Experience with webcasting, quicktime and/or Mediasite. Experience with videoconferencing preferred. Experience with database management a plus. Experience with Crestron Roomview or Extron Global viewer a plus.
